The Community Foundation for Calderdale say they have processed nearly 400 grant applications from household, charities and businesses through their £1m flood appeal.

The appeal has raised £355,000 with a further £12,000 of pledges. The appeal already had £250,000 from the Watermark Fund that the Foundation started raising after the Boxing Day flooding in 2015.

Calderdale Council and MP’s are lobbying hard for match funding and the Foundation would especially like to thank Robin Tuddenham for his support.

If the Foundation can secure match funding, then £1 million is a realistic target. The Foundation has launched a flood appeal video kindly filmed by Bruce Fitzgerald and with Harry Gration narrating it to hopefully raise more funds.

They also have events planned such as Flood Aid 2 which will also help them to reach their target, however, they would encourage people to donate if they have not already done so.
