An exotic bird was spotted nestled with the natives at Halifax bus station.
The colourful bird which could be a parrot or a parakeet, according to the man that snapped it, was seen nesting with local crows and pigeons in trees near the town centre station.
@HXCourier twitter follower @Stocksfield_MD tweeted the picture asking “anyone reported a lost parrot or parakeet #halifax bus station.”
Construction contractor Michael Dunn, of Queensbury, said: “I spotted it in trees at Halifax bus station - its beautiful colours stood out from the other birds.
“It was too colourful for the other birds and clearly not native - I did wonder if it was a pigeon still in fancy dress from New Year’s Eve. The birds looked to be mingling and getting on well. I just hope it’s safe and is reunited with its owner.”
If anyone has seen the bird or knows of its whereabouts they should contact Halifax RSPCA on 01422 365628.
