If you love your walking and love the great outdoors of Calderdale, you will love our Best Foot Forward column.

The Courier’s walking column showcases the best of the district’s walks, but we need your help to unearth even more.

Whether it’s an old favourite, a hidden gem, or a route with breathtaking views of our stunning landscape, we want to know all about it - and share it with fellow readers.

Please send the details, directions and photographs of your favourite walking routes in Calderdale via email to newsdesk@halifaxcourier.co.uk.

This week’s walk is another fantastic route shared by Courier reader and keen walker Sue Mardell, of Savile Park.

The walk explores the Luddenden Dean valley in the footsteps of Whitely Turner, author of ‘A Springtime Saunter’.

Pick up a copy of this week’s Courier for a map and the route in full.
