Fatal road traffic accident in Leeds


A 26-year-old pedestrian died when he was involved in a collision with a black Ford Fiesta.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident which happened at 9.30 pm on Monday on the A6120 Ring Road, Seacroft, at the junction with Coal Road.

The vehicle was travelling in the direction of the A64 when it collided with the pedestrian who was crossing the road.

He received life-threatening injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.

The injuries proved fatal in the early hours of yesterday.

Another male, aged 23, who was also crossing the road was not seriously injured in the collision.

The Fiesta stopped at the scene and the driver has been interviewed.
