Father ‘regretfully’ decides to sell empty Amy Winehouse home in London

Thousands of mourning fans flocked to the three-bedroom property in Camden, north London, and transformed the nearby square into a shrine following the Back To Black star’s death last July.

Now the property is on the market for £2.7m.

Mitch Winehouse said: “It is empty and costing a fortune to secure it. Amy and I both worked on the house and she loved it so much. I hope a lovely family buys it as it is so full of love.”

There had initially been suggestions that the villa in Camden Square could be turned into the headquarters for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity set up to support causes close to the singer’s heart.

The property is listed online as a “substantial and impressive three double bedroom, three reception room semi-detached period villa with well-proportioned private front and rear gardens”.

It has changed hands just once in more than 40 years and has undergone major structural and cosmetic refurbishment, according to online estate agents House Network.

The property has kept some original features, but there have also been modern upgrades including an integrated sound system and CCTV, the sales pitch says.

The advert includes several pictures, including images of the spacious kitchen complete with a black and white chequered floor.

Most of the large rooms have been painted white and have dark wooden floors and ceiling beams.

Winehouse was 27 when her body was found there after a long battle with drink and drugs. Emotional fans flocked to the square to lay tributes outside.
