Halifax Rugby League Club coach Richard Marshall and some of his side’s players visited the children’s wards at Calderdale Royal Hospital over the Christmas period.

The club handed over presents for those on the ward and for those in the clinic, which had been supplied by Kay Mitton from Tesco Metro.

Luke Ambler and three overseas players, Matt Place, Adam Tangata, and Mitch Cahalane, went along and spent around an hour and a quarter meeting young children who were in the hospital.

As well as the youngsters’ presents, they left sweets for the nursing staff as well, in total handing over four boxes of toys, along with Frankie & Benny’s kids eat free vouchers and Halicat themed chocolate bars.

FC Halifax Town players also visited Calderdale Royal Hospital recently to give Christmas gifts to poorly children.

Stars including Matt Pearson, Will Hatfield, Kevin Roberts and Lois Maynard visited the ward with Town manager Neil Aspin.
