Final TV debate for Labour leadership candidates

The four MPs hoping to become the next leader of the Labour party will go head-to-head live on television tonight (Thursday) as they fight for votes in the leadership election.

Pontefract and Castleford MP Yvette Cooper will join Liz Kendall, Andy Burnham and Jeremy Corbyn at a live debate in Gateshead which will be broadcast on Sky News.

The first-half of the debate will focus on questions from the audience and the second half will see the candidates answer questions sent in by TV viewers.

Voting in the election - which is open to Labour party members and supporters - closes on Thursday, September 10 and the result will be announced on Saturday, September 12.

The debate will be live on Sky News from 7pm.
