Fine for man who kicked PC in the head

A LITHUANIAN man has admitted kicking a police officer in the head after his work Christmas party.

Marcus Pauza, 36, of New Road, Halifax admitted assaulting PC Mark Claxton on December 17.

Around 4am police were passing Liquid nightclub in Halifax town centre when they saw Pauza shouting and screaming at door staff.

Police stopped and were greeted with a torrent of abuse. They tried to put Pauza in handcuffs but needed the help of bouncers to restrain him.

As they sat him on the steps, Pauza kicked PC Claxton in the head.

Mark Baxendale, representing Pauza said he came to Britain 20 months ago and had been working as a labourer. “I am sure you have heard the hearing wine in, wit out, on this occasion it was vodka in, common sense out.”

He was given 80 hours unpaid work, told to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.
