Fire breaks out at Blackshaw Mills estate on Halifax Road in Shelf

Firefighters tackled a blaze on the Blackshaw Mills estate on the border between Halifax and Bradford this morning (Friday).

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were called to Halifax Road in Shelf shortly before 11am.

Fire engines from Odsal, Fairweather Green, Cleckheaton, Shipley and Rastrick fire stations were called to the blaze.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and two large jets were used to bring the fire under control.

Around 20 per cent of the 40m by 20m building was affected.

The fire did not spread further and no injuries were reported.
