Fire sends smoke billowing across Leeds and Wakefield

Firefighters from Rothwell and Hunslet dealt with a blaze involving three portable buildings this afternoon.

Crews were alerted to the incident on land off the A61 Wakefield Road between Rothwell and Robin Hood at 1.30pm.

A plume of thick black smoke from the burning buildings was visible from Leeds city centre.
