Firefighters from across Calderdale pose for steamy new calendar

A steamy new calendar featuring firefighters from stations across Calderdale is going on sale to raise money for charity.

The Red Hot Dates charity calendar was the idea of Assistant Divisional Commander for Calderdale Dom Furby and will collect funds for The Fire Fighters Charity, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Laila Milly Foundation.

Among those posing are DanLord and Steve Lewis from Halifax Fire Station who are both Mr March.

Luke Cannon from Mytholmroyd Fire Station features in July while Andy Ball from Illignworth and Mutholmroyd Fire Stations is Mr October.

This is the fire service’s first calendar for five years.

Assistant Divisional Commander Furby said: “ We are all incredibly excited to see the return of Red Hot Dates.

“Everyone involved has put in a great deal of work, all in their own time, so we are certain that those who buy a copy won’t be disappointed!

“If these guys can’t brighten up drizzly September day, nothing will.

“Of course it’s fun, but the serious message is that we want to bring vital fire safety messages into as many homes as possible, while at the same time raising money for some fantastic charities.
