Firefighters tackle flat blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were sent to tackle a blaze at a ground floor flat in South Shore.

Three crews from Blackpool and South Shore attended the fire, which broke out at around 9pm on Friday at the flat on Station Road.

The blaze caused smoke damage two rooms inside the flat, and caused severe fire damage to a sofa.

The cause of the fire is unknown. A fire service spokeswoman said no-one was inside at the time.
