Firefighters tackle moorland fire for over two hours

Firefighters were called to a moorland fire on Monday night.

A crew from Halifax fire station attended the incident on High Lane by Norton Tower at 10.15 and were there until 1.30am this morning (Tuesday)

It is believed the fire was started accidently and was a result of the recent warm weather.

Halifax firefighters were also called to an oven fire in Mixenden just after 11.15pm on Monday night.

No one was injured and no serious damage was caused.
