First Calder Valley political debate takes place this evening

The first of four political debates between the three main political parties in Calder Valley will take place this evening.

The incumbent Conservative MP Craig Whittaker will take on Labour candidate Josh Fenton-Glynn and the Liberal Democrat candidate Alisdair McGregor.

The debate format will see each candidate give a seven minute speech on the future of the NHS and then answer questions on their plans and policies.

In the second hour, the debate will be opened up to a public forum where questions on any area could be addressed.

The first debate will take place at Brighouse High School, Finkel Street, Brighouse, from 7pm - 9pm and will be chaired by BBC Radio Leeds presenter Liz Green.
