VINTAGE vehicles and luxury limousines carried students to their prom to celebrate the end of their school days.

Year 11 pupils from Calder High School, Mytholmroyd, danced the night away at Liquid nightclub, Halifax.

Girls wore an array of dresses, from chic and contemporary to classically beautiful, and the boys were not to be outdone on the style front either in their sharp suits and traditional tuxedos.

“It was a lovely evening and a fitting end to a year of hard work by both students and staff,” said head teacher Carol Spillane.

With GCSE exams complete, students were relaxed and feeling nostalgic over their time spent at Calder.

An Oscar-style ceremony was held to congratulate the students’ achievements, along with a grand draw for an iPad, courtesy of PC Solutions in Mytholmroyd.

Janine Kaye, a raising attainment coordinator and personal tutor at Calder High, said: “Our Year 11 have worked really hard and deserved their night of celebrations. I am so proud of them all and pleased that I could share it with them.”
