Flooding news: Road closures and fears over a river bridge

Reports that Burnley Road has been closed to traffic at Jack’s House but work near Morrisons has made part of Rochdale Road passable, report Neighbourhood Policing Team officers.

They report Calderdale Council staff are trying to clear drains.

There are reports of some cellar flooding in Hebden Bridge but the town seems to have escaped the worst of it this time round.

The NPT has issued a warning after receiving a report about a river bridge at the bottom of Bacup Road by Barearts Brewery which has been damaged by the floods. Until more is known people are advised to stay off the bridge. Emergency services are investigating.
