A four-week old car burst in to flames near Ainley Top this morning (Monday).
The car, which was parked on its owner’s drive on Birchington Avenue, Huddersfield, caught alight around 6.50am.
The owners had left the car parked on the drive at 6.20am and when they returned it had caught alight. A neighbour called the fire brigade. The fire is said to have been closed by an electrical fault.
A fire crew from Elland attended and used one hose reel and one breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames. They also disconnected the battery.
The engine compartment was severely damaged.
Nobody was injured.
Firefighters left after 30 minutes.
