Soft drinks, along with a bar and a pimms and prosecco tent, provided welcome refreshment to visitors, and the barbeque, with meat kindly provided from several local butchers, was a big hit.

Support was not only received from staff and volunteers, but also from the Elland Rotary Club and Sowerby Bridge Rotary Club.

Harriet Eames, Overgate community fundraiser, said; ‘The garden party is a real community event and I would like to thank everyone who helped to make the day such a success, including all of our guests on the day.”

The event has taken place every year for 30 years.
