This year’s gala queen was Keira Hayes, who opened the gala after her coronation.

For the first time there was a dog competition, which included best fancy dress, best dog in show and the dog and owner pair that looked the most alike.

Entertainers included dance group Pennine Magpies, band Selah Sounds, the Crusaders marching band and Shotokan Karate.

Organisers of the Gala thanked the sponsors Coral, Blackshaw holdings, Robinson’s farm shop and Interface for their support.
