the annual Overgate Hospice garden party was again a success, as the event raised over £10,000.
The event, which was sponsored by Investing for Tomorrow, attracted more than 1,000 visiros to the hospice grounds in Elland.
Entertainment throughout the day included music, dancers, stalls, face painting and a bouncy castle for the children.
Soft drinks, along with a bar and a pimms and prosecco tent, provided welcome refreshment to visitors, and the barbeque, with meat kindly provided from several local butchers, was a big hit.
Support was not only received from staff and volunteers, but also from the Elland Rotary Club and Sowerby Bridge Rotary Club.
Harriet Eames, Overgate community fundraiser, said; ‘The garden party is a real community event and I would like to thank everyone who helped to make the day such a success, including all of our guests on the day.”
The event has taken place every year for 30 years.
