A mandate has been submitted to request approval to initiate ‘pre-feasibility’ scoping and prioritisation to identify the range, type and location of interventions required along the road.

The study requests a pre-feasibility budget of £100,000 from the fund in order to identify the indicative scope and potential phasing of the scheme.

Leader of Calderdale Council Coun Tim Swift said transport improvements are being made throughout the district and not just in Halifax.

“This is an unprecedented once in a generation opportunity for investment in transport schemes and the biggest investment in transport for a hundred years,” said Coun Swift. “This is a tremendous opportunity amd we are making sure we are getting the benefits right.”
