In a statement issued by West Yorkshire Police this morning, they have confirmed one man was struck by a BMW which mounted the pavement, before being assaulted.

The victim, a man in his 30s, suffered serious injuries, police said, while a second man, in his 20s, was stabbed.

Both are still in hospital and their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Chief Inspector Gareth Crossley, of Calderdale District Policing, said: “Our enquiries remain ongoing into the full circumstances of what happened last night but I would like to reassure members of the public that this is a single isolated incident.

“I would ask for anyone who witnessed the incident or saw a silver BMW car driving in the area to contact police as they may have information valuable to the investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Calderdale CID on 101, quoting reference 2060 on 02/06.

Police confirmed the incident is not terrorism related.
