Good Times: Phil makes his move to the Red Rooster

Phil Ward completed his move from the Junction Inn, Rastrick, to the Red Rooster at Brookfoot over the weekend.

He has left one Eddie Geater-owned hostelry for the one that got the Geater portfolio going many moons ago.
Ward has revealed he has been brought in to get the Red Rooster back up to speed and running like it was when Eddie and his former wife Claire were at the helm.
Georgie Farrar will get his first open mic session going on the second Saturday in August, the 13th.
He will have bands appearing on the last Saturday of every month, although one had already been booked for Sunday week, July 31st at 3.30pm.
It will be the Ezeegoin band and Phil will also be introducing his famed curry nights that he held at the Junction on the last Thursday of each month.
These commence on August 25 with all you can eat for £8 and a free bottle of beer for the lads and a glass of wine for the lasses.
From next Monday he is introducing tea and coffee and the quiz night will be run each Wednesday with a cash jackpot from 9pm.
He has got nine handpulled real ales on the bar from all across the country and Yorkshire’s finest craft breweries, plus ciders. There will be hot pie and peas served. Dogs are more than welcome.

It was the Shepherd’s Arms annual race trip last Saturday, with a group of regulars, along with landlord Karl Rowley, heading to Ripon.
“Everybody enjoyed themselves and a few seemed to have a few winners,” added Karl.
On the way back they stopped off at the Three Horse Shoes on the Ripon Road, Harrogate before then getting back on the coach and returning to the Shepherds Arms for a disco with Big Mall Y’all.
Then at 9.45pm the hosts served up hot roast beef or pork sandwiches and roast potatoes.
“It was a great day out, everything went well and everyone was well looked after and enjoyed themselves,” confirmed Karl.

Jeremy’s
