Grand Central Rail is giving local organisations, including charities, community groups, schools, and small businesses in Halifax the chance to win funding for an upcoming project.
The rail operator is calling on Halifax organisations to bid for a portion of its £3,000 fund by nominating themselves and explaining how the money would be spent.
The Grand Gestures scheme aims to provide much-needed support to local organisations that believe in making their communities better through their work. A total of seven projects along Grand Central’s North East and West Riding routes will be rewarded with funding, with one receiving £1,000, two receiving £500 each, and four receiving £250 each.
Sean English, acting managing director at Grand Central, said: “We pride ourselves on the close links we have with the communities along our North East and West Riding routes. We are always looking for ways in which we can support our local community, and the Grand Gestures 2016 allows us to do just that.
“We are pleased to announce this brand new scheme and look forward to hearing about various projects which have the potential to make a truly positive difference in the communities that we are part of.”
