Grant will be an asset to Calderdale SmartMove

The money will now be used to renovate the charity’s new premises on Harrison Road, Halifax.

Craig George, of SmartMove, said: “These premises are in need of around £45,000 in total and managing to secure a third of that from the Morrisons Foundation is fantastic.

“Along with funding from other trusts, it has given us the funds to ensure that Calderdale Smartmove is ‘futureproof’ and able to continue assisting homeless and vulnerably houses individuals and families for the long-term future.”

From David Scott, a trustee of The Morrisons Foundation, added: “We are delighted to have awarded this grant to Calderdale SmartMove.

“They provide a great service for vulnerable people in the local community and I’m sure that the refurbishment of the new premises will help to secure the future of their work.”
