Groups wants your photos to mark Games

MARKING the year the Olympic Games come to Britain, two groups are inviting photographers to enter a competition to mark the occasion.

Friends of Todmorden Library (FOTL) and Todmorden Photographic Society are organising Capturing The Moment, a competition which aims to reflect the Olympic and Paralympic Games, in Britain this summer.

The competition is split into four age categories and the only remit is that the original work captures a sport featured in either the Olympic or Paralympic Games.

Steph Booth, of FOTL, said: “We would prefer the pictures to be of movement rather than a static shot of someone holding a cup, and it’s got to be your own work.”

The four categories are for five to nine-year-olds, ten to 14-year-olds, 15 to 18-year-olds and over 18s (adult). They can be colour or black and white. They should be submitted printed out either A5 or A4 size, mounted. Entry forms are available from Todmorden Library and entries should be delivered there by the June 11 deadline.
