STYLISTS from a salon in Boothtown, Halifax, were a cut above the rest in a hairdressing competition.
Chelsea Bennett, 17, and Tamara Cole, 21, who work at Cutting Corners, had two reasons to celebrate after picking up a clutch of prizes in both the National Hairdressing Federation’s Red Rose Championships and the national Blackpool Winter Gardens Hair Festival.
The young women went up against thousands of other competitors.
From Blackpool, Tamara took home the cup for senior gents championship and ladies cut and blow dry.
Chelsea saw off more than 40 other competitors to win the first prize in the modern trend “Uptown Girl” category.
It was the first time they have competed at the Blackpool competition, which is seen as the biggest competition in the country for hairdressers.
Salon owner Christine Hinchliffe said: “I’m thrilled to bits for the girls. Hopefully this will spur them on even further.”
