Charity chiefs at Marie Curie Cancer care have asked for hounds in Halifax - and their owners - to walk 10k.
On Saturday August 18 dogs in Halifax are being invited to take part in a 10k twilight walk at North Yorkshire’s Bolton Abbey.
The event begins at 6pm and after the walk there will be a live music, picnics and fireworks to celebrate the work of Marie Curie Nurses, who begin their shift at 10 o’clock.
Promenading pooches go free and registration is £10 for two-legged friends, who are encouraged to sign up and get sponsored.
All the funds raised will allow Marie Curie Nurses to provide more hours of care, totally free, for terminally ill people in their own homes and in the charity’s hospices.
To register for Walk Ten at Bolton Abbey, or for more information, go to www.mariecurie.org.uk/walkten or call 08700 340 040.
