A Halifax nightclub has applied to extend its licence to allow live music until 5am on Friday and Saturday nights.

The owner of Déjà Vu nightclub, 2 Waterhouse Street, is seeking an amendment to the club’s existing licence to allow drinking and live music until 1am late Monday-Thursday, 5am late Friday-Saturday and 2am late Sunday.

West Yorkshire Police has objected to the application on the grounds that it would undermine the prevention of crime and disorder and that administration and housekeeping at the venue was “of a very poor standard”.

The decision will be made by the Calderdale Council’s Licensing Committee 10am, Friday, June 5, at Halifax Town Hall.
