Halifax town centre road to be closed for flyover inspection

The road which passes under the flyover will be closed from Monday July 23 to Friday July 27.

Calderdale Council’s Assistant Director – Strategic Infrastructure, Steven Lee, said: “The short link road between Burdock Way and New Bank to the town centre will be closed from Monday 23 July to allow for bridge inspection work to take place on the flyover.

“The closure will be in place 24/7 and is scheduled to last until Friday 27 July. The work will be completed as quickly as possible and the road will reopen as soon as the work has finished.

“Diversion routes are in place and bus companies are aware of the closure. We have also alerted Urban Traffic Control in Leeds who will take into account the likely increase in traffic flow on diversion routes and amend the permanent traffic lights accordingly.”
