Harrogate allotment show guaranteed to be a big dill
The show - to be held at Harrogate’s Valley Gardens this Sunday, August 16 - is jointly organised with Harrogate Borough Council, and will feature a wealth of fruit and vegetables as well as plants and flowers.
All the produce is grown by Federation members who will be on hand to give advice and tips to veg-heads and budding growers.

From 11am various stalls on the colonnades will open, selling plants, produce, cakes, honey, jams and chutneys, along with books, gifts, crafts, raffles, tombolas and much more.
Coun Nigel Simms, Mayor of the Borough of Harrogate, will open the show at 12 noon and prizes will be presented to the winners at 3.45pm.
He said: “This annual event goes from strength to strength, thanks to the support of council staff and of course the graft of the allotment holders who are out in all weathers sowing and hoeing and then producing the most incredible displays.
“Thanks must also go to all the friends and supporters who make and bake and sell raffle tickets to ensure the event is such a success each year.”
