Having a ball for crash victim Paul

Family and friends have rallied round to help a colleague who has been in an induced coma for six months following a car accident.

Young Brighouse woman Emily Hanson organised a black tie event for Paul Turnbull, who was put in an induced coma and has been in hospital since March after an accident on Saddleworth Road.

His family travelled from Newcastle and Holmfirth to attend the fund raising night which featured a silent auction and a surprise BeeGees tribute act.

“From the silent auction alone we raised over £1000,” said Emily from Hove Edge who works with Paul at the Sainsburys store in Mytholmroyd. “The photographer, One vision Photography was there on the night and took some brilliant images which are still available to buy direct from their website.

“The night was very emotional but amazing at the same time. I can’t believe I managed to pull it off. I would like to thank all companies and the public who donated such amazing raffle prizes, Thank you for making the night such a success.”

Overall the event raised £5,140. The money raised will help support Paul and his family during his recovery.
