RESIDENTS slapped on the suncream and turned out for a sunny fun day.
A community fun day was held at the playground on Law Lane, Southowram.
It opened last year after a boost from lottery funding.
Organiser Anne Moffatt said: “It’s been very successful. Everybody raised lots of money for their charities and the weather has been fantastic.
“It’s been a real community event,” she said.
British Cycling and Beacon Rangers football team kept people entertained as well as former Huddersfield Town player Kevin Donovan - who opened the event.
The barbecue was stoked and chilled refreshments served to keep people cool.
Money was raised for the Southowram Improvement Association, Withinfields school’s Parent and Teacher Association and the Beaver Scouts group.
