DENTAL services at the closing Laura Mitchell Clinic will move to a new surgery in the next few months.

Health services at the Laura Mitchell Clinic will be moving to new facilities at Broad Street - but dental services will not be moving.

Bosses at NHS Calderdale said the dental services will instead move to St John’s Health Centre, on Lightowler Road, Halifax, which is being extended.

Patients are expected to receive a letter soon informing them of the move.

An NHS Calderdale spokesman said: “We anticipate dental services moving to St. Johns Health Centre by the end of March.

“This will include significantly improved access for people with mobility difficulties.

“The closure of the Laura Mitchell clinic will not result in any community dental services being withdrawn.

“We are simply moving the surgeries at to a single existing facility in St Johns which is being extended and re-fitted.

“We are in contact with the 1,100 patients affected by this service move to keep them informed and will give them specific information nearer the time.”
