Staff from the children’s ward at Calderdale Royal Hospital will be out in force this weekend at the Halifax Gala.
The scheme recognises the bravery of children by giving them gold stars for different procedures such as operations and blood tests. When they fill up their card they are able to choose a toy.
Play specialist on the children’s ward, Danielle Brook, said: “The bravery scheme really helps children when they come into hospital and have to undergo, what can sometimes be, painful procedures.
“It gives them a real boost and adds a bit of fun to their stay in hospital.”
The scheme is in need of funds and donations of toys. All toys need to be new and for girls and boys aged between 0 and 16 years old.
If you would like to donate a toy to be used in the scheme please contact Danielle Brook 01422 223403.
