Elland woman Janette Dann has entered five Race for Life 5k races.

And, she intends walking to the start lines and camping overnight.

She now has four to aim for after completing the Bradford race last Sunday.

Next is Burnley on the 16th, Temple Newsam (Leeds) on the 23rd, Huddersfield on July 7 and Halifax on July 21.

Janette, 35, is battling bipolar disorder and is taking advice to eat healthily and exercise regularly.

She is a member of Stainland Lions Running Club and her father Peter Dann, of Bradford, accompanies her on the hikes to the races.

“I have raised £200 so far and would like to get to £500,” said Janette, who is a qualified painter and decorator and volunteer worker at the Cartwheel Club, Elland.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of 5k or 10k women-only fundraising events, which are raising money for research to help beat all 200 types of cancer sooner. The Halifax Race for Life sets off from Savile Park at 10 am.
