The exclusive ‘Energy Purchasing Club’, formed by Elland-based energy management experts Orchard Energy in partnership with Calderdale Council, was launched on 18 September. The club enables businesses in Calderdale to pool resources together and benefit from greater energy buying power and significant savings on energy bills.

During the roadshows businesses in Calderdale will meet the Calderdale Big Six team to understand the benefits of becoming a member of the scheme, bring along their energy bills and ask questions.

Councillor Barry Collins, Calderdale Council’s cabinet member for regeneration and economic development, said: “The Energy Purchasing Club builds on the work the council is doing to help businesses be more energy efficient, cut costs and improve the environment.

“It will go towards achieving the ambitious target for Calderdale to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 40 per cent by 2020.”
