Heroes on hand to help Kasper

Mandy and Jason Mcarthur’s son Kasper was diagnosed with 6p25.3 to 6p25.1 chromosome deletion syndrome which means he has developmental delay and learning difficulties.

After he was born in September last year, the youngster underwent numerous tests and scans. The results found fluid on his brain, visual delay and slight hearing loss in his left ear which may deteriorate. He also has no middle muscle tone at the moment and cannot sit up unaided,

Now family and friends are looking to raise money for the unit in Halifax which is now helping Kasper with his development.

“We attend the child development unit every week with Kasper for physio and play therapy and soon to start attending speech and language therapy sessions,” said Mandy.

“Due to the overwhelming support that we receive from the staff at the child development unit and other departments that are involved in Kasper’s development we have decided to organize some charity events so we can give back by raising funds to help pay for disability adaption’s where necessary and speciality toys and lighting for the sensory rooms.”

On October 31 friends will take part in a tandem skydive dressed as superheroes. Businesses in Brighouse have also rallied around and supporting the Richard Oastler where they are holding a raffle on October 30 2015 then a halloween fancy dress night the next day.

Parents Mandy and Jason are also finalising plans for charity fun day at Brighouse Sports club on November 29 where they are hoping to challenge a celebrity to take a giant leap on a bungee jump.

They hope to make it into a family fun day with face painting, inflatable assault course, helter skelter, bungee trampolines, Velcro wall, rodeo bull, balloon making clowns, dunk tank, stocks and much more.
