Huge Elland business park blaze tackled by firefighters

Firefighters from across West Yorkshire tackled a huge fire at a Calderdale business park.

Fire crews received reports of the incident at North Dean Business Park in Elland shortly after 2am this morning. (May 4)

Pumps from Halifax, Rastrick, Illingworth and two from Huddersfield attended.

In addition, support crews from Mirfield, Skelmanthorpe and Featherstone also assisted with tackling the fire off Stainland Road.

The fire affected 20% of the ground floor of the large building which measured 40m by 10m.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and rescue Service said one large jet, a hose reel and four breathing apparatus were used by crews.
