Hundreds turn out to say #ItsOktoTalk

Hundreds of people turned out to support a special event organised as part of a drive to encourage men to talk about their mental health.

The Andy’s Man Club event, held at The Shay stadium on Monday night was a special preview showing of
the ‘Andy’s Story’ mini film, created by website The LAD Bible.

Halifax Rugby League player Luke Ambler set up the club and Twitter campaign #ItsOkToTalk after his brother-in-law Andrew took his own life. Luke knew he needed to make a difference to encourage men to talk about their mental health. The campaign has since gone global and the Fax star, 26, wants to see clubs start across the country - and the world.

Speaking about the event, Luke said: “It was absolutely unbelievable. It just shows that this is really needed.

“I’m overwhelmed, but I now want to back up this campaign up with action.”
