Hebden Bridge Cricket Club was bowled over after 600 people turned up to a fun day.

The club joined forces with the White Rose Archers to stage their fourth fun day and six-a-side cricket tournament at Salem Fields on Saturday.

The fun lasted all day, with a BBQ made up of locally sourced food and drinks put on for hungry players and spectators.

There were also stalls, a bouncy castle, a coconut shy, stocks and archery stands.

Hebden Bridge Cricket Club Chairman Chris Berry said: “We are really keen for this event to continue to grow and to become one of the key summer dates in the calander.

“We are really excited about the new links we have created with a number of the best local food producers and hope to buil on this in the future. We feel very strongly about supporting local businesses and hopefully the event will grow to include more in the coming years. Now lets just hope we can raise a great deal of money for both clubs to ensure the future of both cricket and archery in Hebden can continue.”
