Idlewild frontman Rody Woomble among string of top gigs lines up by Halifax’s 1970 Company

Idlewild frontman Roddy Woomble is the latest top artist being brought to Halifax by 1970 Company.

The booking agency, based in Halifax, has organised his show at Arden Road Social Club on Friday, November 23.

Supporting him will be Blue Rose Code and Stefan Melbourne.

The gig is one of several lined up by 1970 Company.

Country, swing and honkytonk performers The Sweetback Sisters will perform at The Zephyr bar in Huddersfield on Monday, September 3 with Little Giants.

And on Tuesday, September 25, internationally acclaimed slide guitar player and songwriter Martin Harley will be playing at Arden Road Social Club.

As well as being a talented musician, he performed 27 shows over 1,200 miles in 31 days on a customised bicycle, carrying all his own equipment, and held the world record for the world’s highest ever gig in the Himalayas.
