Police have released an e-fit image of a man they want to trace after a woman was robbed in the car park of a Leeds supermarket.

The 68-year-old victim was sat in her car about drive off in the car park of Morrisons, Windsor Court, Morley, when the suspect approached the locked passenger-side door and asked her the time.

Seconds later he returned and smashed the window and grabbed the victim’s handbag. She struggled to keep hold of the bag but the man pulled it from her and ran off. He was seen to get into a small dark car and was driven away.

The incident happened at about 11:30am on Friday, May 30.

Detective Constable Stewart Greenwood, of Leeds District CID, said: “The victim was left extremely shocked and distressed by the incident and I would appeal for anyone who recognises the man shown in the image or who saw a man of similar description in the area to contact us immediately.”
