Injured mountain biker rescued by search team

An injured mountain biker was rescued by the Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) last night (Wednesday).

The man had fallen from his bike in remote woodland at Lumb Bank, Heptonstall, and suffered a lower leg fracture.

The rescue ream was called at around 7.30pm - members managed to quickly locate the casualty and he was assessed on-scene by a team doctor.

A box splint was used to protect his lower leg and then he was carried by stretcher from the woods to one of the team’s vehicles.

He was then handed over to the ambulance crew.
