Innocent says he is guilty

A driver who got behind the wheel while disqualified will be sentenced at the end of the month.

Innocent Maforimbo, 44, was involved in an accident in Keighley Road, Ovenden, Halifax, last June, Calderdale magistrates heard.

When police arrived, Maforimbo had left the scene – but had given a false name to witnesses.

Officers were able to track him down and found that not only was he not insured, he was banned.

Maforimbo, of Woodfield Court, Huddersfield, pleaded guilty to the two offences, as well as admitting failing to give correct identity details.

He will be sentenced on January 31.
