A fun day and It’s A Knockout contest is being held in honour of a brave girl from Elland with a rare genetic disorder.

Amelie Gledhill has Russell Silver Syndrome, a condition which limits her growth. On Sunday, June 30, at Greetland Community Centre, 18 teams of adults and six teams of children will compete in a bid to raise money for Amelia’s Fund.

Mum Anne said: “We are trying to raise awareness of her condition and raise funds for her and others.”

There will also be a cupcake stall, raffle and a balloon release.

The event will take place between noon and 4pm.

She would like to thank Sugar N Spice and all stuffed ice in Sowerby Bridge, Calderdale Security Services, Caravan Guard in Halifax, OvenU, Halifax, Halifax Chiropractic Centre, Polyframe in Halifax, Brookmiller Mobility, Elland, Assura in Elland, Total works in Hipperholme, Baroo - an online shop, Tantastic in Elland and Rigifix in Ripponden.
