A student from Halifax is aiming high in her fundraising efforts by attempting to scale more than 5,000 feet on the Yorkshire three peaks to raise awareness of avoidable blindness.
Jessica Chatwin, from Rishworth, is a 2nd year Optometry student and is hoping to raise at least £500 for the Giving Sight charity by completing the 25 mile trek in the Yorkshire Dales on March 24.
She said: “I’ve completed my training up each of the three peaks, and each have been a challenge in themselves with the addition of snow blizzards on the top of each peak! But it’s good character building stuff and it’s all for a worthy cause.
“I’ve raised £465 so far but I’m hoping to break through the £500 barrier to get me over all three of those peaks.”
