Thirty-three-year-old Sam Sugden, who had originally fallen short in her mission having queued up at the box office back in March, wore her glistening engagement ring to the concert last Friday after Kasabian band member Chris Edwards contacted the Halifax Courier to offer the pair guest-list tickets.

Her boyfriend, Kasabian-mad Gavin Baron, proposed in the days afterwards.

“I was made up, obviously,” she said, “Gav has got so much stick from his friends since the story went out but he’s stuck to his promise!

“It’s been funny really, how it’s all happened.”

The husband-and-wife to be were given another surprise when they received a pair of t-shirts signed by the band.

“That was so nice of them and it was a really nice surprise. It just goes to show that they really care about their fans.”

No date has been set as of yet by the couple, who have three young daughters.
