Labour win Todmorden Town Council by-election

Labour is celebrating victory after it held its seat on Todmorden Town Council in the Cornholme ward by-election on Thursday.

David Tattersall, the Labour candidate, topped the polls with 207 votes and has been elected with a majority of 65.

Lib Dem candidate Philip Walters was second and Independent candidate David Jones was third.

The total turnout was 24.6 per cent.

Mr Tattersall will now take the seat on the town council vacated by Labour’s Penny Langham earlier this year.
