Ladies for Charity’s annual bridge lunch fundraiser has generated £1,150 for the Calderdale Disabled Advice Resource Team.

This year’s event was held at The Albany Club and saw a sell-out number of guests sit down to lunch before enjoying a game of bridge.

Helen Moore, of the Ladies for Charity, said the group liked to donate to worthy causes on their doorstep and that she was pleased to help DART, who provide information and advice for disabled people throughout the borough.

“We give to a local charity every year as we like to keep the money in Halifax,” said Helen.

“It’s a very good cause. They were thrilled with the money and someone from DART actually came along to give a talk about how they offer advice to disabled people and try to put them in the right direction.”
